Peter Atherton

M.B., Ch.B., D.obst. R.C.O.G., F.R.C.G.P,

I started life as a doctor at Leeds University, qualifying in 1968 after which I commenced a 6 year short service commission in the Royal Army Medical Corps serving in Northern Ireland , Hong Kong and Nepal.
I had always wanted eventually to be a rural GP so after my time in the army I took up a general practice post in the market town of Buckingham where I worked for nearly 30 years , taking early retirement from the NHS to a pursue a career in complementary medicine ,becoming the Director of the Tyringham Clinic , Europe’s largest residential naturopathic clinic.

This change of direction came as a result of my 2 years as a Visiting Research Fellow at Oxford University studying the medicinal properties of the herb aloe vera ,an opportunity that was partly funded by the NHS and partly by Forever Living Products for whom, by then I was a member of their advisory board .

I was introduced to Forever by way of the products which I witnessed producing some remarkable results in patients who had not responded to conventional medicine, but I also saw the potential of the business model of multilevel marketing which was capable of producing a passive income or pension that I sorely needed.

Following my time at Oxford having become ‘ an expert in aloe vera’ I went on to write 3 books , the first of which is now out of print .

I continue to work as medical adviser to the company and am now in my 22nd year . This involves product training at home and abroad , writing articles and conducting interviews .I have also been involved in setting up clinical trials using both oral and topical aloe vera products for conditions such as irritable bowel syndrome [IBS] , ulcerative colitis and chronic venous leg ulcers.

I hope that by spreading the gospel of aloe vera I will help persuade more health care professionals to join the company and so am always available to speak to any who are potential Forever Business Owners.
